ANCCE Restructures Staff

The difficult economic situation affecting society in general and more specifically the equine sector, has forced a number of companies and organizations to apply adjustment measures that focus upon the necessary reduction of overhead costs Without such measures, continued business activity would be impracticable ANCCE is not oblivious to these difficulties, and in an effort to optimize both human and economic resources, has been forced to adopt a series of measures in the management of the organization, including the inevitable restructuring of its staff Thus, as of February 29, five 5 Association employees have been laid-off These include Javier Buendía, María Tassara, Rocío Cotán, Alejandra de Leyva and Rosario Paguillo The first three worked at the Cortijo del Cuarto office while the other two worked at the Stud Book office On the other hand, having reached an agreement with USPRE to handle the PRE Stud Book in the United States and Canada, ANCCE proceeded to close its office in Miami This includes the services provided by Maravillas Pérez-Cela who was in charge of that office ANCCE wishes to express public appreciation towards those affected by these adjustment measures They have all been characterized by their professional spirit while working at the Association, as is the case of Javier Buendía, who has been with us for almost a decade We are sure that this recognition and appreciation is shared by all those members who have had an opportunity to work with them It is our hope that in the near future, when the causes for such staff reduction measures have been overcome—solely based economic constraints—we can once again count on their services and their added value for our sector and its needs Moreover, in addition to these staff-related measures, the Association is applying important reductions in its budget Likewise, negotiations are underway with suppliers to make adjustments, but always in an effort to maintain the services provided to breeders
