The Florida Series of High Point Shows is held annually over the 13 weeks of the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington Four shows were designated as High Point Challenges, which are open to all USPRE members who own or compete PRE horses in dressage Winners are pinned after each show in 6 categories Open, AA, National, FEI, Youth and CDI Grand Champions are determined from the average of 3 scores from at least 2 of the designated shows at the highest level that the horse has competed with the rider during the season USPRE hosts a similar series in CA and one is being designed in NY for later this year The High Point program was a catalyst in the formation of the COPA USPRE, which is a national Breeders Cup for all PRE riders at the FEI levels

This past winter in Wellington was one of the most active seasons on record for numbers of PREs in the show ring Close to 20 PREs competed in one or more shows, including five PREs who were regulars in the CDI classes The majority of the contestants who qualified for the Grand Champion designation competed at the FEI levels, Small Tour in particular Furthermore, scores earned by the entire field were very competitive, with many winning their classes or in the top three in the country's most competitive environment

USPRE designed and offers this program to encourage PRE riders to train, compete and improve at the sport of dressage We are seeing the fruits of their efforts in the show ring--in Florida, CA and across the country--as more riders are choosing PREs for upper-level competition At this time, in the United States and Canada, there are: at least three PREs contending for Teams for the North American Junior and Young Rider Championships; one PRE on the Developing List for Grand Prix for Australia; one AA National Champion at the Grand Prix levels; and a group of at least four young PREs who are scoring in the high 60s at national and international Small Tour with plans to move to Grand Prix in the near future Many young PREs are moving up the levels, as evidenced by the participation in the USPRE Copa which includes FEI Young Horse categories Additionally, AA riders across the country are competing with success with their PRE partners

The CA High Point Series kicks off next month in Hollister, CA This series will be managed by Erin Lohec and Tina Lovazzano For more information, see https://services.usprea.com/usprehighpointprogram/ or contact the USPRE office
