MAGDALENA ALMERO NOCEA, WINNER OF THE 2015 SICAB POSTER CONTEST

The work “The Spanish Horse, our art, our history” by Magdalena Almero Nocea was declared the winner of the SICAB 2015 Poster Contest, summonsed by ANCCE, the PRE Breeders’ Association, within the scope of the activities programmed to celebrate SICAB’s 25th anniversary 

The Chief Judge was Gregorio Serrano, Sevilla City Hall Alderman for Employment, Economics, Major Festivities and Tourism Members-at-large included Juan Tirado, president of ANCCE; Pedro Pingarrón, president of the ANCCE Communication, Promotion and Marketing Commission; Mirko Nesurini, member of the aforementioned Commission; Javier Machuca, ANCCE Board Member; Manuel Novales, president of the SICAB Commission and singer José Manuel Soto  Their time, dedication and collaboration are greatly appreciated  Sixty-eight works of art were presented  After a selection process, the works were scored, with the maximum score being for Magdalena Almero Nocea, from Sevilla but living in Valencia She has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Sevilla, and specializes in painting and photography

With this award—worth €3000—the winning artist will have another landmark in her career  In addition, two Honorable Mentions, with a €1000 each, have been granted  These corresponded to Farzad Saeedi from Iran and José Eduardo Contreras Salcedo from Alicante Spain

The poster contest has enjoyed ample participation; it has exceeded our expectations, not only in the number of works presented, but also the diversity of origins  Art work has been sent from all over Spain, as well as many international participants from Portugal, Rumania, Iran, Poland, Estonia and Germany

Open to artists and designers, contestants had to be at least 18 years of age, but from anywhere in the world  Work had to be original and unedited using a wide variety of techniques painting, oil paint, photographs, graphic design…   The most outstanding contest requirement was that topic of the work had to focus on SICAB, the International PRE Trade Fair, with this playing a fundamental role in the work of art 

SICAB 25th Anniversary

2015 is a very important year for ANCCE, as it celebrates having organized SICAB—the world’s most important single breed equine fair for Purebred Spanish Horses—for the past 25 years  Over the years, ANCCE, the Purebred Spanish Horse parent association and the oldest association in Spain, with more than 600 members, 18 regional associations and 23 international associations, has turned SICAB into a first-class reference date on the international equestrian calendar   SICAB brings together sports, competition, social happenings and extensive commercial activities, and has become the third most important event in the city of Sevilla, after Easter Week and the April Fair 

Among the many activities organized to commemorate this important date is the creation of a specific anniversary corporate logo, two exhibitions and a number of tributes that review from the initial beginnings up to the current Fair, but at the hand of the actual protagonists
