PRE's Compete with Success at the Gold Coast Opener CDI in Wellington

A number of PRE's made impressive appearances at last weekend's Gold Coast Opener CDI at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center in Wellington at all levels from Junior through FEI Grand Prix

Beginning with the young set, sixteen 16 year old Rachel Chowanec made her Florida International debut with double victories in the Junior Team and Individual tests at the Gold Coast Opener CDI last weekend on Lendon Gray's Embrujado XI Close at Rachel's heels every day was another very competitive and promising Junior Rider, Paula Matute, on her lovely Spanish stallion Califa 15, owned by Bill & Debra Williams The two Junior riders, on their almost-matched gray PREs, were the talk of the show and their closely contested classes were the highlight of the weekend for many Keep an eye this pair in the future !

Additionally, Janne Rumbough once again proved that she is at the top of her game and the top of the Adult Amateur Division by easily winning both the Prix St George and the Intermediare I with scores of 66842 and 67105 respectively on her young and powerful JR

Another USPRE Adult Amateur All Breeds Award winner, Dr Judy Streisand, lent her long-time mount Cartujo VIII to trainer Holger Belchtoff for the horse's Grand Prix Debut Scores of 626 and 6th Place in a large Open Grand Prix class proved the horse's ability at the highest level

Pan American medalist Yvonne Losos continued her campaign of Lily Zilo's Gorrion in the Open Division of the Small Tour  This being a Pan Am Qualifying year, the PSG and Inter I Open classes are full of top riders on top horses preparing for the International Qualifiers Yvonne and Gorrion finished 6th at the Prix St George on Saturday with a 62105%, bringing the total number of ribbons for PREs at the Gold Coast Opener to 8
