This past weekend in Wellington, Florida, at the Global Dressage Festival’s Palm Beach Derby, more than a dozen PREs competed in the national and international rings for the Derby Perpetual PRE Award Having 15 representatives of the PRE breed together at one of the season’s most competitive international dressage shows was an impressive turn out And even more than numbers, the results were in the high ranges
Two PREs topped national FEI classes during the week: The Open Intermediare I on Thursday was won by 7 Year Old PRE Stallion FIero HGF, ridden by Nicholas Fyffe and trained by US Team Trainer Robert Dover with a score of 67697 Likewise, in the Open Grand Prix on Sunday, 19 year old Cartujo, ridden by Holger Bechtloff, showed that he is still a winner at the level, topping the Sunday class with 654% Cartujo—a favorite of PRE watchers on the winter circuit— is owned by Judy Streisand

Scores for the other PRE riders were similarly high, most scoring in the high 60s at levels from First to Grand Prix—a very strong showing for our horses and riders
