President's Year End Report 2013

The end of the year is just weeks away—a good time to reflect on 2013 and all that we’ve accomplished  Another spectacular SICAB in Sevilla, Spain, has just ended, and USPRE would like to thank all of the American breeders and visitors who attended our reception, with special thanks to Jesus Jimenez and Ariel Martinez for hosting the CA Breeders stand this year and inviting USPRE to be a part The stand became a meeting place for our members and friends throughout the week, and the generosity of the hosts and the graciousness of Ramiro Vega displayed the best of American-style hospitality

2013 has been a year of sudden growth for our organization Beginning with the launch of our new website in March—developed by Executive Director Joan Mack—we have seen a nearly overwhelming increase in new members, new breeder applications and service requests Membership at USPRE has grown by 75% since March 1^st In real numbers: on March 1, 2013, we were an organization of 196 members representing predominantly studfarms, and as of today, December 15 2013, we are over 350 active members in good standing, from 44 states across America, as well as Canada For perspective, ANCCE has just under 600 members We can attribute much of this to a new feeling of unity in this country and a growing understanding of the importance of supporting a national Breeders and Owners Association for the benefit of our horse and the community that supports it We also want to acknowledge the work of our Director of Communications, Ricardo Nigaglioni, who came to USPRE in March of this year, with the commission to improve member relations and services

In the Studbook office, Director of LG Services Tanya Duffey continues to work closely with her counterparts in Spain to implement new regulations, procedures and promotions that are provided to breeders throughout the year With Wanda Ramirez in the office to assist her, Tanya has completed several thousand services this past year Keeping the process moving forward for all requests can be challenging, especially in the midst of Revision tours or in the cases of horses with difficult registration issues 2013 is only our second year at managing LG services, and while we are not yet perfect, we do our best to avoid mistakes or create undue delays This work is exacting and the requirements of Spain for correct documentation continue to rise, sometimes resulting in frustration for our breeders and owners We want to thank all of you for your understanding and helping us make this system work for you

Our newly formed Breeder’s Executive Committee met three times this year and implemented several important policies and programs Minutes from those meetings are recorded on our website Most importantly, the BEC is looking forward to 2014 for promotion of the Qualified Tribunal in the fall TRC, a series of clinics to prepare breeders for this event, and the support of Morphology competitions around the country, including California, Virginia and Las Vegas

Thoughout 2013, USPRE was represented at Breed and Dressage shows around the country We supported the two Fiesta del Caballo Espanol shows in City of Industry, CA, as well as the IALHA Nationals in Fort Worth, Texas, in October with VIP booths and members services We had member representatives at the breed shows at Dressage at Lexington VA and Dressage at Devon PA, and were sponsors of the Global Dressage Festival in Florida Our USPRE event in February last year in Wellington brought out more than 700 people, and we hope to have a similar impact at the 2014 event on January 22

Our Dressage Programs were the best yet in 2013 This year, our CA High Point Series was filled with new horses and riders, as was our USDF All Breeds program, leading the Dressage Committee to announce the COPA USPRE Breeders Cup for all FEI-level riders in the United States and Canada This exciting new program is outlined on our website under the Dressage Menu Several of our members achieved US National Champion status in Open competition in 2013 We are extremely proud of them, and all our Champions, and will be honoring them all at the Wellington USPRE event in January

Informe de Fin de Año del Presidente

El fin de año está a sólo semanas de distancia, es un buen momento para reflexionar sobre el 2013 y todo lo que hemos logrado Otro espectacular SICAB en Sevilla, España, acaba de terminar y USPRE quiere agradecer a todos los ganaderos americanos y visitantes que asistieron a la recepción, con un agradecimiento especial a Jesús Jiménez y Ariel Martínez por ser anfitriones para los Criadores de California e invitando a USPRE a ser parte de su stand El stand se convirtió en un lugar de encuentro para los miembros y amigos durante toda la semana, y la generosidad de los anfitriones y la benignidad de Ramiro Vega que demostraron lo mejor de la hospitalidad al estilo americano

2013 ha sido un año de crecimiento increíble para nuestra organización Comenzando con el lanzamiento de nuestro nuevo sitio web en Marzo, desarrollado por la Directora Ejecutiva, Joan Mack Hemos visto un crecimiento abrumador en los nuevos miembros, aplicaciones de códigos nuevos de ganaderos/propietarios  y solicitudes de servicio Nuestra membrecía ha crecido un 75% desde el 1 de Marzo En números reales: el 1 de marzo de 2013, éramos una organización de 196 miembros que representan predominantemente ganaderías, a partir de hoy, 15 de diciembre de 2013, somos más de 350 miembros activos en buen estado, dentro de 44 estados en todo Estados Unidos, así como Canadá Para verlo en perspectiva, ANCCE tiene un poco menos de 600 miembros Podemos atribuir gran parte de esto a un nuevo sentimiento de unidad en este país y una creciente comprensión de la importancia de apoyar a los Ganaderos Nacionales y la Asociación de Propietarios para el beneficio de nuestro caballo y la comunidad que lo sustenta También queremos reconocer el trabajo de nuestro Director de Comunicaciones, Ricardo Nigaglioni, que empezó con USPRE en marzo de este año, con el encargo de mejorar las relaciones con nuestros miembros y servicios

En la oficina de Registro Genealógico, la Directora del Libro Genealógico Tanya Duffey continúa trabajando cercanamente con sus homólogos en España para poner en práctica muchas de las nuevas normas, los procedimientos y las promociones que se ofrecen a los ganaderos durante todo el año Con Wanda Ramírez ahora en la oficina para asistir en el mismo departamento, Tanya ha completado varios miles de servicios en este último año Mantener el proceso de moverse hacia adelante para completar todas las solicitudes puede ser un reto, especialmente en medio de Tours de Revisión o en los casos de caballos con problemas de registro difíciles 2013 es sólo nuestro segundo año en la gestión de servicios del Libro Genealógico y aunque todavía no somos perfectos, hacemos todo lo posible para evitar errores o crear demoras indebidas Este trabajo es exigente y las exigencias de España para la documentación correcta siguen aumentando, a veces resultando en frustración para nuestros ganaderos y propietarios Queremos agradecer a todos ustedes por su comprensión y ayudarnos a hacer que este sistema funcione para usted

Nuestro recién formado Comité Ejecutivo del Ganadero se reunió tres veces este año e implementaron una serie de políticas y programas importantes Archivos de esas reuniones están registrados en nuestro sitio web Lo más importante, el BEC está mirando hacia adelante al 2014 para la promoción del Tribunal de Reproductores Calificados TRC, una serie de clínicas para preparar a los ganaderos para este evento y apoyo para los concursos de morfología por  todo el país, incluyendo California, Virginia y Las Vegas

Durante el 2013, USPRE estuvo representado en espectáculos de Raza y Doma Clásica en todo el país Apoyamos a los dos Fiestas del Caballo Español en City of Industry, California, así como los Nacionales de IALHA en Fort Worth, Texas en Octubre, con cabinas VIP y servicios a los miembros Tuvimos representantes en los Shows de Raza, Dressage at Lexington VA y Dressage at Devon PA, y fuimos patrocinadores del Global Dressage Festival en Florida Nuestro evento USPRE en Febrero del año pasado en Wellington atrajo más de 700 personas y esperamos un evento similar el 22 de Enero de 2014 

Nuestros Programas de Doma Clásica fueron los mejores en 2013 Este año, nuestro California High Point Series estuvo lleno de nuevos caballos y jinetes, al igual que nuestro programa USDF todas las Razas, lo que lleva al Comité de Doma Clásica a anunciar la COPA USPRE Breeders Cup para todos los Jinetes de nivel FEI en los Estados Unidos y Canadá Este nuevo y emocionante programa se resume en nuestra página web bajo el menú de Doma Clásica Varios de nuestros miembros lograron ganar Campeonatos Nacionales en competencia abierta en 2013 Estamos muy orgullosos de ellos y todos nuestros Campeones y estaremos honrando a todos en el evento de USPRE en Wellington, Florida en Enero
