USPRE Members Dominate at Del Mar National

In what is now a national trend, USPRE High Point riders topped their classes at the highly competitive Del Mar National Dressage Show, held April 26-29 in Del Mar, California Led by a stellar performance by Sabine Schut-Kery in the FEI levels, three riders made very positive impressions on the judges in one of California's largest dressage events of the year

Sabine and Marques returned to the showring that weekend following a prolonged break with some of the highest Prix St George scores on record for a PRE Horse to date As a warm-up for international competition, Sabine and Marques won the national Prix St George three times and took home scores of 707, 75, and 792% from different judges who all concur that Marques and Sabine are ready for the big league Sabine and Marques XXXVI, who is 9 years old this year, were the 2010 recipients of the USPRE Dressage Scholarships for Professionals, and have been seen and evaluated by USEF National Developing Horse Trainer Debbie McDonald With results like these, there will be many watching their progress

For Young Rider Rebeca Shaye Raede, the Del Mar National Show was a very special event Rebeca rode her PRE Limador in the FEI Opening Ceremonies, carrying the American flag, in honor of her brother who is serving in Afghanistan She then went on to win the Second Level division for JR/YR and take home not only the USPRE High Point award, but the overall high point award for her level

The USPRE High Point Award for Adult Amateurs went to Chris Martin, the 2012 USPRE Dressage Scholarship recipient and rider of a PRE gelding whom she rescued several years ago Chris won both of her First Level tests, and posted a personal high score of 6357% Chris Martin and her Letrado 15 are featured in this month's Riding Magazine at http://www.ridingmagazin.com/riding_onlinemag/articles/2013_05/hom-letradohtm
