It is with deep sadness and sorrow that USPRE announces the passing of its friend and colleague - 

D Juan Carlos Altamirano

 A consummate Gentleman, prolific Author, and world respected Historian D Juan Carlos died quietly in his home in Malaga on Saturday, October 6th 2012 following a long illness

D Juan Carlos developed an extensive body of research on the Pure Spanish Horse PRE and published over a dozen books which were distributed internationally D Juan Carlos also served as the Chairman of the USPRE Heritage Committee since 1998
